Heartless-2

Cold blooded..emotionless..were the adjectives everyone gave her.

‘You don’t know how to express yourself’, they would say. ‘You don’t have any love in you, you really are heartless.’
Even the ‘closest’ of her friends would complain.
She would have no answers or explanations. That was the way she was.

That day, like any other, she was alone at her apartment. The chaos outside did not bother her. The screams of help fell on dead ears.

They found her sitting on her couch, reading a book. Everything in the room was placed neatly as if she had just cleaned it.

Their sight did not bother her. Her face, like a stone, did not reveal any emotion.
But deep inside, her stomach churned. She calmed herself by reminding herself what everyone said, she was heartless. They could do her no harm. She smiled.

As they proceeded to rip her apart, a drop of tear fell.

She did have a heart.
